The Sakıp Sabancı Museum's Education and Learning Programs continue throughout November, including the mid-term break, with rich content workshops inspired by the Suzanne Lacy: Togæther exhibition, the museum's collections, and past international exhibitions.
As part of the Children's Workshops, participants aged 10-12 will embark on a guided interactive exhibition tour of the "Thinking Together, Feeling Together" workshop on Tuesday, November 11th, exploring artist Suzanne Lacy's "Togæther" exhibition. They will then reflect on emotions, aging, family, and social equality, and experience how art can be a way to understand and share human relationships.
On Thursday, November 13th, in the workshop "Designing Performance Wear: From the Personal to the Public," children aged 10-12 will explore the body as a space of expression, inspired by Suzanne Lacy's Performance Clothing (1974), and design their own performance costumes using various materials.
On Saturday, November 15th, in the workshop "For Everyone, Young and Old," children aged 4-6 and their parents will explore the concepts of growth and time, inspired by Lacy's Whisper, the Waves, the Wind (1983-84), bringing together the emotions of two generations in a collaborative work.
In the "Those Who Walk Out of Painting and Into the City" workshop, inspired by Suzanne Lacy's performance "Travels with Mona" (1977-1978), on Saturday, November 22nd, participants aged 9-12 will transform portraits from the museum collection into their own heroes. These portraits will then be re-imagined in iconic Istanbul locations, bringing together images of the past with the rhythms of the present.
In the "Map I Drew from Me to Us" workshop, to be held on Saturday, November 29th, children aged 9-12 will explore private and public spaces together and create a collective map, inspired by Lacy's performance "Between the Door and the Street" (2013).
As part of the Suzanne Lacy: Togæther exhibition, the adult workshop "Designing Performance Clothing: From the Personal to the Public" will take place on Tuesday, November 25th, from noon to 5:00 PM. Participants will explore the body as a public space, drawing inspiration from Bauhaus and Constructivist theater costumes and, drawing on Suzanne Lacy's feminist body narratives, they will reinterpret concepts of movement, intimacy, and distance.

In November, workshops inspired by SSM's own collections will also be available for children.
In the "Little Romantics I: Looking at the Sea Through Aivazovsky's Eyes" workshop on Friday, November 14th, children aged 8-10 will discuss the Romantic movement and create their own seascapes, inspired by the paintings of Ivan K. Aivazovsky. In the "Painting with Words" workshop on the same day, children aged 10-12 will design original portraits by combining text and imagery, inspired by the stories in the Arts of the Book and Calligraphy Collection.
The Families with Strollers program will continue to welcome young visitors in November. On Friday, November 7th, in the "Crazy Colors, Dancing Shapes" workshop, children aged 18-36 months will create their own playful universes with shapes and colors, inspired by the world of Joan Miró.
On Saturday, November 15th, in the "Galloping Colors" workshop, children aged 2-4 and their families will design their own unique horse figures based on the sculptures in the Atlı Köşk.
On Friday, November 21st, in the "Introducing Cubism" workshop, children aged 18-36 will design Cubist masks inspired by the works of Pablo Picasso and reinterpret a Picasso work with their own colors.
Detailed information and registration for the workshops can be found on the Sakıp Sabancı Museum website.
